Bernalillo

The stretch from Corrales through Bernalillo up to Placitas has the widest mix of roofs we work on: old village adobes with true flat roofs and canales, riverside Territorial homes, and custom hillside houses with complicated metal and tile.

Flat adobe roofs almost never fail in the field. They fail where the roof meets something else — the parapet, the canale, a curb — and those are the details we rebuild rather than patch. On the custom homes it is hand-formed metal flashing at every valley, sidewall, and headwall.

Access can be tight and the wind up toward Placitas is serious, so we plan staging and tie-off before the truck rolls, and the roof is dried in every night.
